MFKB Muay Thai
Muay Thai is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques.
This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on shins is known as “the art of eight limbs” because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient.
Muay Thai became widespread internationally in the twentieth century, when practitioners defeated notable practitioners of other martial arts.
MFKB MUAY THAI was set up in 2004 by Marion Field, fully trained and qualified martial arts instructor. Marion has many years’ experience of teaching all ages and levels in various martial arts and for the past few years has specialised in Muay Thai.
Marion keeps up her own training to a high level travelling 3 times a week to Majestic Gym at Wigan to train with World Champion Thai boxer and top Muay Thai coach Kevin Harper.
Marion has trained under various different instructors over the years including 5 times world Thai boxing champion Master Ronnie Green, and for several years with highly respected Muay Thai coach Simon Audley, of Sapphire Gym, Huyton.
She has studied many different disciplines, including Torite Jitsu, Sanshou and Kung Fu.
She is an ISKA and UKMF qualified judge and has judged many bouts over the years not only in Muay Thai but also in Kickboxing, MMA and Boxing. She also travels regularly to Thailand to further her knowledge of Muay Thai.
